Mental
Bertanding |
 |
 |
Meraih skor total 285 (3 under) selama empat
hari pertandingan termasuk hal yang luar
biasa bagi para pegolf kita, ditengah minimnya
pengalaman internasional yang mereka
miliki. Apalagi jika hal tersebut dilakukan di
negeri orang dengan tekanan yang berat dari
para pesaing yang notabene telah terbiasa
dengan nuansa kejuaraan |
seperti itu. Artinya
tinggal masalah mental bertandinglah yang
sebenarnya perlu diasah oleh para pegolf
nasional kita jika menghadapi kejuaraan –
kejuaraan internasional seperti ini, dengan
terus memfasilitasi mereka untuk mengikuti
kejuaraan – kejuaraan sejenis di luar negeri. read more |

Hati – Hati Dengan
Triple Bogey…! |
 |
 |
Pengarahan teknis tentang penggunaan
scoring sistem Callaway 36 – Stableford yang
dilakukan oleh pihak komite pertandingan
sebelum sirene tanda dimulainya pertandingan
berbunyi, sedikit banyak mempengaruhi
performa beberapa pegolf yang turun pada
hari itu. Pasalnya pesan dari Direktur Turnamen
yang berbunyi “Hati – hati dengan Triplebogey !” benar – |
benar diresapi oleh setiap
peserta untuk nantinya dihindari di setiap hole
yang mereka mainkan. Alhasil hampir seluruh

About the only place Paul Azinger
ever got the better of Nick Faldo was
at the Ryder Cup.
Although the only time either captain
used a club this week was in TV commercials or
replays, darned if Azinger didn’t find a way to
best his European counterpart again. |
A short par putt conceded to Jim Furyk
guaranteed that Sam Ryder’s gilded trophy
would spend the rest of an Indian summer day
basking in Kentucky, then linger on this side of
the Atlantic for at least the next two years. read more |

It’s All About Money |

 |
Singh had all but assured himself of
the title and its hefty bonus when
he won the first two events of the
PGA Tour playoffs for the FedExCup,
Those victories were his second and
third in a five-tournament stretch that began
with his win at the World Golf Championships-
Bridgestone Invitational.
|
By the time he got to Atlanta, Singh knew
the silver Tiffany trophy was destined for his
beachside home in Ponte Vedra, Fla., as long
as he finished the tournament and didn’t get
disqualified. Considering the fact that the
45-year-old wosn the Tour Championship in
2000 and had never finished lower than ninth
at East Lake, though, many expected more

“At the final second, I
looked straight at the pin
and said, ‘I’m not going to

I’m going dead at it, It

putt was just beautiful.”
Villegas said
Camilo Villegas knocked his ball in

drove one into a |

a bogey. As he strolled disgustedly
to the eighth at East Lake, Villegas

qualifying tournament on a
scorching Friday in the desert,
shooting a steady 1-under 71 to
tie for fourth. Completing the first step toward

The scene at Mission Hills Country Club was far
different than in the past for Wie, who became
a golf celebrity at 13 when she played in the
final group in the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
