Bukan Bagdad ibu kota negeri Irak di
Persia, melainkan sebuah kota kecil
berpopulasi 1.940 jiwa di Santa Rosa
County, Florida, Amerika Serikat
yang diketahui sebagai tempat
bertumbuhnya seorang anak hiperaktif
bernama Gerry Watson dengan nama
panggilan “Bubba”.
Di vonis mengidap penyakit kejiwaan “Attention Deficit Disorder” sejak usia 7
tahun, Bubba Watson memang sulit untuk
menghentikan sifat menarik perhatian orang
secara berlebihan hingga dirinya tumbuh
menjadi seorang pegolf profesional.
Soal memarahi caddie dengan perkataan
kotor merupakan spesialisasi pegolf kidal
berusia 31 tahun tersebut, termasuk kebiasaan
berperilaku “jahil” melakukan swing dengan
bola dari “kotoran sapi” di halaman rumahnya,

Ai Miyazato memang belum beranjak
dari puncak rangking dunia (Rolex
Ranking) saat memulai tee off
pertamanya di Locust Hill Country
Club New York pada tanggal 24 Juni
2010 lalu dalam LPGA Championship, ketika satu
minggu sebelumnya berhasil “menggeser” Jiyai
Shin dengan meraih gelar juara dalam ShopRite
LPGA Classic di New Jersey, sebagai koleksi gelar
juara ke empat nya di tahun ini.
Namun ketika seorang pegolf lain dari jajaran
peringkat lima besar dunia berhasil meraih
sukses dalam kejuaraan Major tersebut, secara otomatis Miyazato harus merelakan tampuk
kekuasaannya itu untuk langsung turun ke
posisi dua. Seperti kenyataan yang dihadapinya
setelah pegolf cantik Cristie Kerr berhasil
mengunggulinya sebagai juara sekaligus
melengkapi dua catatan gelar Major dalam

All the spectators’ expectation to see
a thrilling duel between two golfers
in the leader flight , Michael Hendry
from New Zealand and Liang Wenchong
from China, on the final day
at Indonesia Open presented by Enjoy Jakarta
was not fully fulfilled. Their tight battle ended on the 9th hole by Hendry, taking one stroke
lead over Wen-chong who stranded with
bogeys on 10th, 11th, and 12th hole , while
Hendry did a spectacular move with his four
birdies on 11th,12th,13th, and 14th hole.
It would have taken a miracle for Liang Wenchong
to be able to pull himself back in the
battle for the last four holes, yet he showed a
tough fight in earning one last birdie on 16th to
lessen his loss at 7 stroke behind Hendry.

Event though there were only 24 golfers
from three countries, Singapura,
Thailand and Indonesia competing
at the event, CIMB Asia Pacific Classic
Invitational Regional Qualifier was not
just an ordinary stage of competition. Because
the eight best players from each country who
played at Emeralda Golf Club for two days (5 – 6 July, 2010) , competing to secure one seat
at the Asia Pacific Classic Invitational at Mines
Resort & Club Malaysia next October 28-31.
On the first day of the qualifying round, Sarmilih
KZ, currently ranked no.3 on the Indonesia
Order of Merit, surprisingly took alone the 3rd
position below two tough players, Lam Chihbing
(SIN) and Panuwat Muenlek (THAI). He
closed the first round at 4-under 68, made
3 birdies, 1 bogey and 1 eagle at 17th hole. Another Indonesian player who opened a
chance in the second round was the champion
of 2010 RP Invitational , Andik Mauludin. He
