Failing for 5-meter putting to get his
birdie, has made Lam Chih Bing burry
his dreams for the the play off against
his competitor Thaworn Wiratchant
at the Mercedes-Benz Tour Serial,
Asean PGA, Heritage Melaka Classic on June
12, 2009 at the Tiara Melaka Golf & Country
Club. This directly led Wiratchant who has been
awaiting at the club house to become the new
champion for 2009 Tour Asean PGA.
Not just awaiting for winning, Wiratchant who
was in the flight ahead of Lam Chih Bing,
almost left the 18th green as the Runner Up,
if his 12 meter putting did not strike properly
and made his par record. It means that the
anticlimax putting of Lam Chih Bing contribute
the climax for winning for the golfer who will be
43 next December, through his long distance
yet proving accurate putting in the lapse of just
few minutes.
Wiratchant finally maintains the tradition by
becoming a host winner in the Fourth Asean
PGA in 2009, after the host golfer Ben Leong
unsuccessfully moved forward his position from
T4 together with his compatriot, Sivachandran.
Generally, such golfer from Sabah played
impressively in the final round as he gained the
score of 3 under.
The winning of Wiratchant has truly indicated
that the Asean PGA serial this year has been
dominated by the Asian star players after Mardan
Mamat won the first serial in Singapore and
Angelo Que for the third serial in Mt. Malarayat,
Manila. The only new comer becoming winner
is a rookie from Thailand, Kiradech Aphibarnrat,
who won the second serial competition in
Pataya.
Not only proudly receiving the trophy presented
by the Chairman of Melaka Misnisters, Y.A.B.
Datuk Seri Haji Mohammad Ali Bin Mohammad
Rustam, Thaworn Wiratchant is also entitled a
check worth US$ 8,126 handed over by the
Chairman of Melaka Ministers in the accompany
of the Executive Chairman of the Asean PGA,
A. C. Wong as well as the Executive Director,
Ramlan Haroen. This presentation of trophy and
prize took place at the hall of the Tiara Melaka
Golf & Country Club.
For Wiratchant, his success is felt so perfect as
during 4 consecutive days, the winner of Enjoy
Jakarta Indonesia Open in 2005, recorded birdie
at the 17th hole of par 3. In this tournament
which is supported by the Kesultanan of Melayu
Melaka, is generally considered as the hole with
most difficulties by golfers participating in the
tournament.
The following serial is hoped to be organized
at the end of July, which is planned to take
place at the Saujana Golf & Country Club, Kuala
Lumpur; taking the theme of Mercedes-Benz
Malaysia Masters.
